Today I was messing around on our new old lathe….so far this is my first turning, and I think it turned out ok. It is 6 inches tall made from olivewood. After messing around on it this afternoon, I am hooked on turning! Thanks for looking!

Looks good. The lathe is a great tool and will expand your project possiblities.

A tip for your rings, cut them as normal then take a piece of copper wire and put wooden handles on both ends. Without touching wire put it against the recessed part until it smokes. DO NOT TOUCH THE WIRE!!! The end product leaves you with nice cut rings that stand out. Makes a cool accent to any turning.

Good job on the candle holder Dale, and that’s a great piece of wood to start out turning with.
