Found this one in a box yesterday.
Cleaned off the clay and buffed it with steel wool to highlight some areas.
Added a coat of linseed oil to brighten it back up.
Pretty sure it had a coat or two shellac on it at one time. Probably some urethan varnish. The liquid latex, used as a barrier between the plaster and the wood, pulled off in to the mold and didn’t stick to the wood carving.
tile is about 7 inches long.
Make only made 3 or 4 clay tiles from this mold. Dug out the plaster mold this weekend and pressed a few more.
