Back in October of 2009, some Michigan LJ got together in a Lansing park. Despite the location and time of year it was a great success. Mike (Jockmike) and his wife arranged the event, some others helped in providing food. So I decided to create a handout that would be reminder of the event.
I took the LJ bitmap logo, converted it to a vector and then into a dxf for my CNC machine. Remnants of Formica on plywood and then used CNC to etch the graphics.
I ran this past Martin and he said it was OK to offer the file to other LJ. On my to-do list is a TS cabinet with this logo on the side.
File types I have it in are PDF, DXF and BobCAD CAD format. The original translation to vector in Corel has been tortured too badly to be of use any more.
So, if you would like the files you need to PM me with a real email address so I can send them.
First picture is screen shot of the file, second is the whole trivet (guitar pick for scale off to right) and last is a close up of the engraved LJ.
Steve.

Very cool idea Steve. That was a nice gesture on your part to hand those out at the picnic. Nice reminder, and very nice looking. Been thinking of making mine into a clock. Hey I’m having a garage cleaning bee this Saturday if you want to stop for coffee and spend some time. LOL. Your LJ Bud, mike

Sweet.
Have you tried Vcarve inlay with this yet? Where you route into the substrate, and then route a mirror image into different woods. Then glue them together, and route smooth. Anyway, that is a CNC project that I always wanted to try with this logo.
You did a very good job,
Steve
