A friend of ours asked us if we could build a bar. I was a bartender for 20 years before I met Mike so this was right up my alley. I went home drew up a plan and made a rough sketch. We started work 2 days later. Mike of course was the master builder, I did the design, stain and finish and the grunt work.

Well it looks very nice, but the location has me puzzled, is this at a shop? or someones garage? I’m wondering about the name “dog house” and whether your friend is in it? Looks great and I’m sure there will be plenty of partying. I’ll have a pinch (scotch) on the rocks with a lemon twist please.

It’s in Texas in a private airplane hanger. He doesn’t own a plane so don’t be afraid! I painted dog house on it because he said this is where he’ll go when he’s “in the dog house”. It’s a perfect spot for all those Texas BBQ’s.
P.S. please don’t drink and fly!

Looks beautiful, what kind of wood was used?

The lower is roughsawn plywood with cedar 1”x2” batts, the bar and counter tops are Birch 3/4” plywood laminated on top of 3/4” plywood. Beams are roughsawn 6”x 6” cedar

Cool, every Aircraft hangar should have one. Once the flying and or work is done nothing wrong with a cold one! Thats when all the good stories come out LOL Nice work.
