This box is made with black walnut and Tiger Maple.
A few words about the box construction:
Made from 100% solid lumber.
Assembled using time tested Mortice and Tenon joinery.
The bottom of the box is lined with high quality suede which has been tucked inside a groove that runs around the sides. This eliminates any chances of the liner fraying or loosening.
The whole box was sanded with ten different grits of sand paper and finished with 4 coats Laquer for long lasting and durable life.

Approximate Dimensions:
Outside : 12 1/2 in wide X 9 in deep X 3 1/8 in high
Inside :9 3/4 in wide x 7 in deep x 2 in high

Maestro, there are lots of things to like in this design. I like the curved front and lift. The framed Black Walnut is beautiful. The joinery is solid. The dividers and suede are a nice touch. This box has a lot of eye appeal. Nice work.

This is a project you might compare it to. I made it several years ago. Added here just to exchange ideas. Keep posting and keep boxing.

Very nice work. Is the lid hinged? If so, how’d you do it? Beautiful craftsmanship.
