The Walnut and Poplar in this box is reclaimed from an organ built in 1895, the Poplar in the lid panel has such striking contrast it looked liked a field of long grass at sunset. The hinges are Beech, the box is 6” by 10.5” 5” deep.

Very cool box. How did you make the hinges?

Bullnose router bit and straight bit. Round end of stock, relieve inner side of leaf with straight bit, then use a box joint jig.

Lovely box. The lid is surprizing and gives contrast. Thanks for sharing!
