Project Information

Four pack beer caddies made as presents. I found some piece of board in grandfather's barn. My friend told me that this is maple - here called ''bird'' maple. Cross slats -beech, bottom playwood.

Photo transfer on wood technic signs :

Žuja je zakon! - Žuja is a law! (Žuja is a nick name of the local beer - advertising campaign)

Da bi došao do druge, najprije otvori prvu - To get to the other, first open the first one (words of wisdom, as a part of advertising campaign for another local beer)

Don't ask my why four packs. Original plan was six packs.
I have jig for fingerjoints on tablsaw, but I made it for 3.2mm blade. I forgot that and made cuts with 2.8mm blade - ofcourse they weren't fit. So, I had to cut ends and save the day with overlaping joints strenghten with dowels.

Looks more like Quilted maple than Birdseye maple to me. Still beautiful though. Nice work!

Nice work Ivan. That maple looks really interesting. Oh and a 4 pack is just fine when the other two beers are hiding out in the back of the fridge for later consumption ;)

Ivan, what a great project. I you certainly have a nice design…as usual. I like the opener, the curved handle, the inset side slats and the beautiful wood. You always seem to create functional and useful projects. Well done! What kind of wood is that?

This is my take on a carrier, posted just to share ideas and designs. Well earned "Top Three."
