Drill Press Rolling Cabinet

Previously I had a bench top drill press on top of a tool cabinet. In the drawers I had bits and drill accessories. After switching to a full size drill press I missed having those items right at the tool so I made this rolling cabinet to fit underneath the table. All of the accessories are right where they are used and if I need to lower the table I can just roll out the chest until finished. I added some trim cut from a 1×1 post to keep bits or round items from rolling off the top of the cabinet. It’s also the first time I’ve tried to use mitered corners on a project and I was pretty happy with how it turned out. I’ll likely just put a clear coat on it as I like the wood color vs stains or paint for a shop cabinet.

That is a neat idea G’1.

I thought I’d be clever by fixing a decent sized boxed drawer under my table top. Worked like a charm… when empty, but needed my can of spinach when I had to lift the table with stuff in the drawer. I now have a drawer under my “normal” workbench.

This is a very nice drill press base and a nice addition to your shop.
