I was asked to build this for a lady to give to her son, who collects these type of swords. (Not my thing, but heh, who am I to ask?)
At any rate, she wanted it in oak, with brass hardware, and a royal blue background. I had to come up with a way to support the sword, and designed the walnut brackets to fit. The walnut corner keys match.
I always seem to have troubles with mounting hinges, but these ones turned out very well. The latch keeps everything closed snug. It is designed to hang on the wall. The finish is BLO and wipe on Poly.
Thanks for looking.
Ryan

Exceptional work Ryan, the blue felt really makes it stand out. The bracket are done to perfection. Do people in your area have sword obsession or what..LOL
