I envisioned this project just as a way to utilize some cool looking shavings that I hate to throw away. This bowl came from a log that had been laying in a fence row for quite some time and had some nice spalting to it. The nest is made from long shavings of a previous project (cherry bowl), and the egg was made from a scrap of poplar.
