This was an unexpected surprise. I brought a few logs home from a recent family reunion. I mainly decided to try a piece of this pecan log because of it’s size and did not expect that it would have this level of spalting and beauty. I’m gradually becoming more comfortable with my tooling, and, after watching an old video from David Ellsworth, I have adopted a new grind on my bowl gouges…it makes all the difference.

This bowl is going back to its’ original owner. Maybe he’ll let me come up and harvest some more of this log!
