This chessboard is made of solid walnut and maple and finished with High Gloss Polyurethane No veneers were used to make this chess board. The squares are made of 1/2 inch pieces and are left visible underneath to show the solid construction. The border is made using a layering process then routed to give a decorative profile and separate the colors.

Never toss out the small pieces.
