I loved this wood. It was called “decorative cedar” and was red and white. Finishing it with a UV protective stain changed the white to yellow and was a disappointment. I loved the red and white contrast. It does still look good in my yard though.

Nice little functional stand. We call that aromatic cedar in my neck of the woods.

Very cool! I really like the design and look of this. My bride would have a fit over one of these. Come to think of it… so would my Sister, Mom, Mother in-law, Sister in-law…. Wow I better hide this from them. I could become very busy if they ever seen this….lol

Nice, I like your design. I really want to do some outdoor furniture but I can’t find a good source for cedar.

Thank you all for the nice comments. I am lucky to have a raw lumber yard (not sure what that is called?) about 30 minutes away. They have about every kind of wood you can imagine and is actually much cheaper than the local Menards and Home Depot. Of course you have to plane it (although they will do it for you quite cheaply) but to me that is part of the fun and I can do that at school.

That is real nice. Being cedar it should last a very long time.
