Been playing with some birds recently. Wood ranges from apple, curly maple, ebony, walnut, Holly, Olive wood, bocote, and there’s even a cherry bed post donor in there. If I were a craft sale person, do you think these would sell? The literally take just a few minutes. Well maybe a little more than that, if you count the sanding flat the bottom, then sanding a touch where the head and body meet on both pieces, and drilling a 1/4” hole and doweling them together with superglue.

These were all made in the past 6 months.

Enjoy and I’d like to see others post some of their own if they feel so inclined.

Thanks

Scott

Very cool- I think they would sell. Is the body of the one in the first picture olivewood? I’m really glad to hear of other people using this amazing wood! Looks great!

Ironically it’s the beak that’s Olivewood. The body is curly maple.

I’d cut down 6 Olive trees when I lived in Wildomar, CA years ago to keep them from dropping their olives everywhere. A huge mess. I had a few scraps left. Most of it was burned as firewood….before I became a woodworker and realized what a faux pas I’d done burning some of the most expensive wood around. oops.

I think they are terrific. I like minimalist designs on many things.

I’m an avid waterfowler. I love your ducks for their simplicity of form. The main duck reminds me of a merganser.
They are truly delightful.
