Very nice Bill – I like the details… are you planning on making other clocks (as this one is a ‘test’)?
What are the rough dimensions?

Thanks guys. The base is about 5” x 3” and stands about 6” tall. The clock is 2 3/4” in diameter with a 2 3/8” mounting hole. The top of this clock used to be the same size as the base. With horrible black and decker router bits and a bit (pun intended) of a learning curve on my router table, cutting it down became necessary. As you can see, I apparently sanded the top and the base to different grits or something. A mistake I’ll be sure to avoid in the future. I am making at least one more clock that is going to be a bit larger. It’s based on a clock I saw in one of my woodworking magazines.

The smaller sized top, makes it more balanced.

I think this is a fine project. It is a nice clean project. You ended up with something functional, that looks good, and you sharpened your wood working skills. Isn’t that what it is all about?

looks great – I like the finish – no gloss gives it the look of a treasured antique…

It is a good looking clock. Just don’t start pointing out all your mistakes when you show it to people. Most will never notice.

I didn’t notice any mistakes and I love that timepiece you have chosen….it fits the style perfectly in my opinion
