I’m breaking the “completed projects” rule here, because this project is huge and ongoing. I just want you to see some of my design and timber work. This is a 3-story timber-framed barn in Southern Utah. The frame is hybrid, with studwall infill and steel sheer bolts, not mortise-and-tenoned. All the wood except o.s.b. is from the mountain next to town, harvested on National Forest lumber permits. Mostly fir and spruce, with some pine. The floors are 2” t+g planks of clear fir, and are beautiful. When I get married next summer we’re dancing here. Live band, lots of wine and cider, and meat and vegetables from our farm. You’re invited!

Beautiful for me too, I like a lot the American use of thin floor joists, it’s always very elegant to me (here in Italy it would be impossible, due to our fire-prevention regulations – unless you panel them)

very nice! I’m sure any horse would be happy to call it home :) Congrats on the wedding! That’s a lot of work for a wedding present :) Sounds like a great time!

MY GOD that’s nice, and i’m invited? wow!
haha, BEAUTIFUL work, i’m definitely jealous, especially since it’s both a locally harvested building and the wedding reception will be locally harvested foods. Can’t ask for much more then that!

Congratulation on the project and the wedding, ahead of time!
