Small raised panels of Cherry in Black Walnut frames. Lid is all walnut. Bottom panel is 1/2” thick poplar.

2 coats of amber shellac, and then a top coat of Clear Gloss Poly. 9-1/2” tall, by 15-3/8” wide. front to back is 11” over the finger rest on the lid. Raised the panels using a couple handplanes. Corners are a tongue & groove glue joint. Cherry panels are 1/2” thick. Nice little project.

Very handsome chest, Bandit. That would look right at home in any man cave.

Once again the demonstration that the skill is what matters.
You work in general (this and previous ones) has helped me doing a bench without spending too much time and money in making a fancy bench.

This is awesome Bandit. I’ve been following the blog on this and… you make it look so easy! And my wife also says “It’s beautiful”, which is much better that the usual “Ok honey, that’s nice”. Thanks for sharing.
