Shaker Blanket Chest (Toy Box)

This has been my most ambitious build to date. A few details about the piece:

- 48 dovetails line the chest and base.
- Curly maple finished with transtint dye, danish oil, shellac and poly.
- Rockler Torsion hinges were used to keep little fingers safe.
- Shipped lapped cherry bottom.
- 60+ hour build time

This is a beautiful blanket chest and displays a lot of nice details and craftsmanship.

Beautiful piece. For someone who hasn’t done too many dovetails they look great, especially the spacing. Thanks also for all the pics and info/specs. Great Job!

You might want a few breathing holes for the little guy !! The Chest is beautiful !

Absolutely beautiful chest. I need to make one of these too. I know the little guy will love this. Congratulations on a heirloom build which can be passed down for generations.

Yeah. You can click the link in the bottom of the post to get more details on the build. I did use a magnetic saw guide which really helped out a ton.
