Project Information

I had a piece of 1/4 inch live edge maple laying around for a couple years with no idea what to do with it. Then I kept seeing more and more river top tables and thought - why not a river top box?!!

Used the live edge piece (curly maple), some other beautiful grained curly maple, and walnut for the lid, bottom, and spline accents.

Measures approximately 8.25 inches by 4 inches.

Finished in natural Danish oil from Rustoleum and Minwax satin lacquer.

Thanks!!

Neat idea! The maple and contrasts really stand out.

I see adding small stones, etc. to the "river" for added effect. Great use of wood many consider as scrap too small to utilize elsewhere.
