So when I was considering building a toolbox, I needed a way of storing the blades for my small plow plane from Veritas. I decided to make a blade and plow holding piece that could be slid into a box. This is what I came up with. It is three panels, slots cut in the two end pieces and then glued together. I forgot one of the blades, it was in the plow, and I needed to add on the end piece. I am pretty sure this is Maple. The protruding bits are out of oak. The numbering was not the greatest, in fact one of the threes is upside down. And the day after I finished this, Lee Valley released a box for the blades costing $13. I’m going to buy one because I’m planning on getting the combination plane eventually.

Nicely done Todd. Everything in one place and easily accessible.

Very nice. How do you like the plane?

Thanks Andy!

James – used it in a few projects and really liked it. I’m excited to eventually do a project that needs a beaded edge but haven’t used those blades except to practice. If the combination plane had been out I would have bought that.
