Small Lidded Bowl

Small round bottom bowl made from ironwood. Base and finial from mesquite burl (piece left over from the small burl bowl). Bowl is about 4” by 4”. Finished with several applications of wipe on poly.

Original design was to make a calabash type bowl with a small lip but too thin of material and a nasty catch forced a redesign.

Thanks for looking!

Really unique, and beautifully done. Although, it does bring an image to mind . . .

Sort of a Lord of the Rings theme? ;)

Nice work as always lew.
And the fancy detail on the finial really sets if off.

Lew, this is a beautiful piece and I love the wood. It’s a real eye catcher.

Nice contrast, and good recovery. If I discussed my screw ups on every project, I wouldn’t have time to post the project… (-:

And I do have a number to post. Just too busy with refinishing and repair projects for a new condo for our handicapped daughter.
