I wanted an easy to make modern desk lamp that had some unusual flair. In this case, it was the downward pointing ridges.

Made of mahogany. Uses an inexpensive LED puck light.

very sleek and modern look,i love that design.it could be made any size for use as a table lamp or used as lamps on night stands in a bedroom,lots of possibilities.thanks for sharing this,nice work.

To fasten the top on, you could always use magnets..

Nice design, was not expecting those backing boards to be the pieces that hold it all together. Magnets (as someone else mentioned) or dowels to hold the top on are definite options, I’ll probably end up making this later on :D
