This box done in the past, now in Toronto, Canada. A gift during her visit in Manila. The full velvet covered inside makes it one in a kind, adding to that is the golden or brass plated aluminum angular frame on the top. The name was etch in a glass and inlayed it to the lid. White NARRA inlay made the contrast to the red IPIL and red NARRA as outside frame of the lid.
Challenges…. stretch the velvet from side to side before locking it with caulking piece. Glass etching, straight inlays as border. Aluminum (metal to wood) gluing.
Materials: Recycled selected pine, old narra frame, glass, aluminum scraps from old frame. NEW VELVET. The idea was to make a photo box, but it turn out as jewelry box
