This box is a tribute to my Ant and Uncle who where a great influence in my life and I miss them a lot and have great memories from those days .
The box is made from spruce an jatoba with a maple panel set in the lid cut to a diamond pattern with my cutting jig
http://lumberjocks.com/projects/198906
This is new design of mine and I like the look a lot and will likely follow this design up with some variations .
I used splines on the corners for strength and by adding the two vertical splines created a design accent .
The interior is fitted with a tray and lined with velvet cloth and the lid is hinged with a pair of SOSS 10 mm barrel hinges which are perfect for the 9/16 wall thickness of the box .The size of the box is 12 ” X 8 ” X 4 3/4 “and finished with poly satin urethane .

Questions and comments always welcome.

Klaus
