Been spending some time with my grand daughters before they’re off to school next week. Had them provide me with some sketches for some high heel shoes. Their imaginations are wild and I guess that this is the reason why there is such a business in women’s shoes – they never seem to have enough of them.
So, I scrounged around in my wood pile and found these pieces of cut-off cedar posts. Now to work. Will keep you posted as I need some shoes for a class I’m teaching at Lee Valley – you guessed it, Women’s Shoes. Should be a blast come September 21 and 22.
The other white thing is a piece of tupelo wood being carved into an Atlantic Puffin. It’s coming along slowly but the tedious detail work requires many rest periods and shots of life’s elixir – Scotch.
Stay tuned!
Have a great day!

Hey Roman,

The cedar is a great wood to use. I really did like your cowboy boot very much!
I am sure that these will turn out as nice too.

A man named “Ben Schmitz” from Red Lake Falls MN used to carve farm scenes that were excellent. He told me once that he could not do them at all without the help of a bit of whiskey. So your scotch is understood!

Roman, you never did make me a pair of boots, so take a couple extra shots and make me a pair of high heels, 11 1/2 please! ;-)

Roman, I’m sure that whether you make shoe, slipper, high heel, or boot they will be well received. I’m looking forward to seeing them.
