A neighbor saw me getting into wood clock making and asked if i could design her a clock for her grandson’s room. PS. He LOVES dinosaurs. The above item is the result. I had originally attempted to use marquetry techniques, but the lacewood veneer I attempted to make the body out of was too brittle a wood to stay together in small sections, so i used the frame as an overlay to create the body and inlayed the headpart, which held together reasonably well. Luckily the kevazingo appears to complement the lacewood. Luckily for her she did not commission this job by the hour, for the clock woud have been worth its weight in gold.

Very cool!
A design suggestion… I think a dark wood or even black frame around the whole thing would really highlight it nicely.

Dan A nice job. I think a border would help set it off some more.
