Project Information

This is my first table. The table top was created from two pieces of figured Maple(3rd pic). The apron, legs and the mitered boarder are from walnut. The table top is approx. 2' by 4' and the joints are mortise and tenon. Danish oil and wax finished off the project. I bought 11 slabs of this maple for $100! Sorry the pics aren't the best but I was rushed to take them.

Excellent job! It has a very clean style. I think walnut and maple were meant to go together. Nice book matching, too.

Great grain of the top. how did you deal with cross grain movement between the walnut border and the maple slab pieces?
overall a nice, clean design.
