Beer Tote and Coasters

I did not make this for the beer swap-I made it for a co-worker who left for another job.

The end caps are walnut with the Michigan inlay of curly maple. In between the rows of bottles I put in a holder for two coasters-he is a Michigan State alum. The rest is made of maple with toothpick dowels used to hold the thin side panels & dividers together.

I used a CNC to machine the end caps and the inlay. I made a mistake while machining the end caps-so I covered each bottom corner with some walnut burl scraps I had laying around.

Finished with multiple coats of GF arm-r-seal semi gloss.

Thanks for looking.

Nice set and side inlays. I like the joinery you made. Pretty funny characters on coasters.

This is an awesome beer tote! I really like the style of the handle, very creative. I’m sure your co-worker will love it!

Wow, that is beautiful work. Sorry our beer swap coincided, we probably stole some well deserved attention from this! I love the built in coaster holders. Not to mention the coasters! The inlay is gorgeous and I like the overall design with the split handle and 2-tier dividers. Very nice way to put your own touch on a common project. Outstanding design and execution!
