This bench set is all 3/4 maple with a dark walnut stain finished with a satin laquer. This project was my first to for someone else at my home so I found out very quickly that without the thousands of dollars of tools I usually have at my work would prove to be quite difficult. The backs are angled at 12 degree pitch and pocket screwed into side panels. The corner is what proved to be difficult with trying to do a double miter and get it to meet up seemlessly. I got it on the first try but definitly had to think about it for awhile. All edges were either edgebanded with maple tape or with some 1/4 screen molding which is what the designs on the front are out of. The screen molding covers all exterior edges but the tape covered all interior edges. The drawers are a slider style that sit on just some one inch rails. They are made out of all 3/4 inch maple including the bottom and dividers. I used an old world style pull on each side so they can be removable to access the storage area underneath.. The lids were attached with some cheap brass piano hinges. I was very happy with being my first home project just wish I would have sold it for more. lol
