I was cleaning out the small chunks of different wood and could not throw even these small pieces away. I needed some stock of refrigerator magnets so I decided to make a family of alien head magnets. One chipped out so I flattened it out and put a face on it.

The third shot is the main family made from pistachio wood, then there are the twin girls made from female box elder, the last two are the cousins made from mahogany and walnut!

They are all finished with EEE and Shellawax!!!!!!!!!

Cheers, Jim

All these little guys can help protect the barn. I see the face on the first one. You know what they say about aliens Jim, they all look alike.

Please explain to me “female box elder” never heard of it. What’s the difference between male & female box elder ?
The magnets look great

Thanks, guys!!

Hi Joe, these would work on a steel chess board. but with the north pole down an all of them, they won’t get any closer than about 1” or they push the next one away

Way to go, Tony. You must have Photoshop!! I have some translucent green corian and that may be a magnet next week. You are giving me more ideas!! I could add black corian for the eyes!!!!!!!!!

Cheers, Jim

Well done Jim. They all look real nice. Easy to grab too if someone had difficulty with their hands.

Regards,
Cliff.

These all turned out beautifully. These are very nice projects to use up small pieces of wood.

-- Bob, Western Australia, The Sun came up this morning, what a great start to the day. Now it's up to me to make it even better. I've cut this piece of wood 4 times and it's still too damn short.
