I was recently commissioned to build a this fireplace surround for a new construction by a friend of ours. It was to be of material to be painted, so my favorite hardwood materials were out…... So I for MDF and Poplar. I was given a few guidelines i.e. Height, width and that it was to fit in a Retro styled home. All moldings were made in my shop. I made a scaled drawing it was approved, so here it is all comments are welcome.
