Carving Spoon

I’m fairly new to carving spoons, just started a couple of years ago. This is my first spoon that I carved out of butternut. At the time the only power tool I owned was a scroll saw which I used to rough out the blank, all the rest of the work was done by hand.
Since then I’ve found that the other power tools I’ve purchased (band saw, table saw, belt sander) have made life a whole lot easier; easer on the hands.
It’s just the designs that seem to be harder to come up with now days!

Wow! What a beautiful spoon. It’s a wonderful eye catcher.

Very nice work there. I would have broken it 10 times trying to handle it; too clumsy.

bobasaurus,
Thanks for the post. I looked at some of your projects, you’re a very talented craftsman.
Did you forge the Damascus blades and tools?
