Well, here it is… my first attempt at using a scroll saw. It was exciting, I have to say.
I did the outside edge; no problem. Then I had to figure out how to cut the inside pieces out. It looked so simple when Rick showed me yesterday. It had me sweating and I was afraid to turn the machine back on – in case parts started flying every which way. But they didn’t.
Then, with heart pounding and bench slighly vibrating from the scroll saw, a “balancing” mallet fell from its shelf and scared the living daylights out of me!!!
How I managed to finish the project, I will never know.
I wanted to burn my daughter’s name into the wood (she’s a music teacher). Not bad, I thought, until it was all done and I realized that I should have had her name going in the opposite direction.
Oh well, if you don’t have things to laugh at, where’s the story behind the project??? !!
:)

there were moments when I was wondering if I was having fun or not, but the journey is just beginning!! I can’t wait to try this again.
