Wife and I are having a open BBQ for the neighbors. We’ve just finished a renovation on our new house and so we’d like to get to know the neighbors. For the neighbors who come we will give them a birdhouse.
Each birdhouse will be in kit form. I think that once you assemble it there’s more of a reward when you look at it in your yard.
The kit was designed for easy assembly. The base, sidewalls, and roof all have dado’s to receive the shelves and face/back plates. It can be put together with glue only, no nails required. The wood is pine and so it will need to be painted.
I ran out of wood on the prototype which allows for a photo of the inside.
The entrance holes are 1 1/2”. When I did my search for that size hole there were many birds which like that size entrance hole so we’ll have to see what comes.
Top to bottom it’s 18”
Open to criticism, suggestions…

Paul

Very nice, I like the dado concept and the three tier.
