I needed a Chisel Plane for a project. I made the iron from a cheap Bench Chisel and the body from scraps of Apple and Birch. It’s really comfortable to use and very inexpensive. In total it would have taken less than an hour to make. recording the process took much longer :D I made a demonstration video and I will make a build video later.

Thanks John :) I’m enjoying the creative process now the workshop is more functional. I have a huge list of ideas :D The 18th century house I’m working on (it’s historic and protected) needs a few specialist tools that I’m trying to invent as they are not available to me. I need to preserve many details of the building.

Thanks woodbutcherbynight :)

I don’t know if it helps, but some details are:
Chisel 32mm wide
Bevel 25 degrees
Sole cut at an angle of 12 degrees

I will add these to the information at the top.

I would love to hear about what others build and if they use different angles. Any enhancements are great :)

You did a very nice job on this plane and it will be a fine addition to your shop.
