Made this box to keep special items and included a way to lift the box to utilize a lower storage area.

The box dimensions are 6” high including the lower tray while the width is 6 1/2” with length of 12 1/4”.

There are 2 inner trays with have 3 compartments which are 4” each .

I wanted to use little larger decorative hinges for the box.

After completing the top I decided to use some paduak inlay diamonds and some maple corners for accent.

There are 2 1” pull rings on each side to lift the inner box when tray access is needed.

Very nice box and well designed. The pull rings compliment it nicely.

Thanks Charles and others
There are a few areas I didn’t like but overall was pleased once it was finished.

Very nice! I forget the name of the joint at the moment…brain drain…but I like the use of the…I’ll call it an outer box/finger joint. Maybe someone can remind me what it’s actually called.

Believe you are referencing the splines which are larger than normally installed but wanted to break up the walnut .
