Foldable stepstool of cherry, top and steps of afrormosia.
Height 60 cm (95 cm when folded), width 40 cm, depth 70 cm (15 cm when folded).

Very nice Stepstool Bernard :) How are the screws held? Are they straight into the wood or are they a furniture bolt? I can’t make it out from the pictures. Thank you :)

See picture below: Spax screw with hexagonal/star shaped head, 80×6 mm. The screws are driven directly into the wood of the steps (after pre-drilling a 4mm diameter hole). As afrormosia is a dense tropical hardwood, the screws hold very well. I drilled a 6mm diameter hole into the “legs” and placed a washer between the side of the step and the legs, allowing the steps to pivot easily. The screw heads are countersunk.
