I built three identical frames for my brother to display some wildlife pictures he found. I used half lap joints for the corners and set in some 12 gauge shotgun shells to make it more interesting. I found for me the easiest way to add the place for the glass to go is to build the frame and then use a rabbit router bit and square out the corners with a chisel.

-- Work- helping fill out my workshop but giving me no time to use my toys.

The style and finish look perfect for the pictures-the shells are a nice detail.
