This is what my wife really wanted to get my daughter for Christmas.
http://www.kidkraftinc.com/toys-and-playsets/kitchens/kitchens/53173
The second picture was a happy little elf on Christmas Morning!
So i made this version almost entirely out of 1/2” MDF. The only things that aren’t MDF are the hinges, handles, sink hardware, sink, and plexi covers for the microwave and oven. I designed it in sketchup and used a free program called Cutlist to generate, you guessed it, a cutlist, from my Sketchup drawings. It wasn’t automatic, i had to manually do the take off, but the cutlist program helped me automagically make the best use of the available material.
Enjoy! I hope it inspires you to make a better one and share it with all of us.

You can see the joy in your little one’s eyes. A very successful project!
When you buy these things in stores, it seems like they are alway more like a ‘kit’ that you have to put together with inferior joinery. I’ll bet yours holds up a lot better, too.

I hope so, i just wish i had made it form 1/2” ply, then it would hold up for two lifetimes. I’m sure the hinges will all tear out of this MDF given enough time and enough kids…Oh well, if it break, ill fix it, if i can’t fix it, i’ll build it better next time.
