This “shabby chic” look seems to be what’s in style these days so I updated my helper stools in this style. I have 3 of these made for an upcoming flea market. So far the feedback has been great. Hoping these sell quick at the market and lead to some custom orders in the future.

To get the worn look, I first burned the wood with a torch, painted white, then sanded through the paint in some areas. After a final sand with 220, the surface looks distressed but is very smooth. Simple walnut stain for the base.

Nice work and an interesting design.
