This is the super sled i built from instructions and plans by eagle lake woodworking. I made it from red oak, 1/2” mdf (big mistake) and t-track form Peachtree Woodworking. It has slots in the table to use hold downs and attach other fixtures like guides for doing miter cuts.my favorite part is the handle, keeps my hand well away from the blade, and it’s pretty comfy to hold onto. I hope you enjoy it and it inspires you to build a better one and share it with all of us!!

Sounds like someone else enjoys mdf as much as I do. “NOT
I try not to use mdf anywhere. “But that is just me”
I do like your sled plan.

I was specifically going to comment on the handle from looking at the pics. You beat me to it. Looks like a fine tool and addition to the shop. BTKS

Yeah i really need to sand the handle down, remove the glue runs and put some poly on it, it’s starting to look a little grimey.

MDF is actually has pros and cons when it comes to sleds.

Pros:
Flat and stays flat
Slides well
Easilly modified/ cuts smooth

Cons:
Strength
Flexability
screws strip out
HEAVY

!/2” seems a little flimsy to me how is it structurly? I definetly like the handle, I also like Hold down slots. For me I did a simpole one as I use it alot, and I often find myself making new ones all the time. I need to figure out a removable insert that I can place in there…

Anyone seen that?

Nice sled man
