This is my “Drill Press Stand” from Shop Notes 38. The plans called for lots of hardwood, i wasn’t going to drop that much money on a shop stand when 3/4” project ply would do the job for 1/8 the cost, give or take. You’ll notice that my bench top drill press does not have a “foot” or base. it jumped off the wall and ran into my truck when i was backing out of the garage one morning, before i had in mounted on the rolling stand, and the base cracked and broke in two. So i just have it mounted to the rolling drill press stand via four lag screws. This is also the current home of my bench vise my wife gave me for Christmas. She’s awesome! Hope you enjoy it, and it inspires you to build a better one!

Very nice, this is similar to the idea I’ve got in my head for mine.

Very nice! It sort of looks like a robot ready to attack.

Thanks for the post. I have been forming one like it in my mind and your ideas helped bring it more into focus.

Cool, I have been wanting to do something like this for a while except I want to put my small bench top bandsaw on it as well. This looks like it will work for me except I would make it longer.
