Custom Bean Bag Set

Project by Dan M posted 752 days ago 1547 views 2 times favorited 14 comments Add to Favorites Watch

The first in a round of Christmas gifts created in the shop .. this one is for a dear friend who also happens to be a Chicago Cubs fanatic—standard construction – 2×4 frame, 3/4 plywood top with a custom, hand-painted finish.

The hardest part about this project was completing it … I’m a Yankees fan ;-)

So inside where it could not be seen you did the Yankee version.

Great job.

Thanks Karson—truth be told, the ‘makers mark’ says “Go Yankees!”

It’s just a shame you didn’t use the Cincinnati Reds.

It’s more of a shame that you didn’t do the NY Yankees! But I can understand that “When in Rome, do as the Romans do.”

Nice job! I’ve made several sets similar to these but the game I copied was called “CornHole” and the bags are actually filled with unpopped popcorn. Are these a derivative?

Thanks everyone – I appreciate the kind words, certainly enough to encourage me to make more for friends and family!

Branden – I believe it’s the same game .. I use bags filled with corn (feed corn I suspect)—most of the folks I know call the game “Bean Bags” despite the lack of beans ;-)

Dadoo – I agree and Go Patriots!

Good choice, Dan!! I love your card cases!
Too bad Rockies had time off after their sweep. They got too complacent, while Boston was still hungry!

Been a Bronco fan since mid 60’s!

Fantastic choices, here!

God Bless,
Hawg

Awesome paint job. I have made a couple of games and have had no time to paint them yet. I love the paint. I am an avid cubs and yankees fan. This might be the motivation I need to paint mine. Did you stencil or just use tape to do different colors. I am impressed by the total package. Awesome.

Thanks .. looking forward to the look on the face of the gift recipient (3 days and counting)!

As for the design .. I used painters tape to mask off for the pinstripes, the main part of the design was drawn freehand using a compass for the circles/arcs

If I didn’t already make myself a set (painted to look like the U.S. Flag was draped over the boards) there’d be a Yankees set in my future!

What a nice paint job. Tough being a Twins fan about now. They have sold or traded almost everyone of consequence. Wait til next decade!
