After building the Kevin Rodel designed Arts & Crafts bed for my wife, I decided to make a dresser to match the motif. I designed the piece myself and built it from plain-sawn white oak, with white oak veneer plywood for the sides and solid quarter-sawn lumber for the top. I designed the plaques mounted on the sides to match the stringing and inlay work on the bed. I then fumed the dresser with ammonium hydroxide. It is finished with General Finishes Enduro-Var, two coats of gloss and one of satin. The hardware is from Horton Brasses.

Guess she’ll need a night stand next!

Thanks for looking!

Very nice Jerry!

Those plaques look really sharp, I like how they are “attached” versus just being inlayed into the sides.

You certainly will need to resist the inevitable march toward a houseful of similar themed pieces 8^) (time is valuable!)

That’s really nice looking. I really like those drawers fronts. That softened bevel is an great touch.

Yep that’s right Jerry, make the big complicated stuff first then work your way down to the smaller pieces …
I saw the bed and liked it a lot … and now I like the dresser a lot. ... Looking forward to seeing the night stand.
