I made up three different boxes with different tops a couple weeks ago and production came to a halt due to feeling lousy. Was back out in the shop yesterday doing a few things and finished this baby up with some Danish oil. I’m starting to like this finish!

Excellent style Duff! That wood combo is stunning.

I’ve been on a Danish oil jag for most of this year, I really like what it does for exposing the subtle grain detail.
A topcoat of some form of sealer (shellac/varnish) is always nice if the object will be closed up, it traps the odor of the oil which never really goes away.

Yes, Danish oil is a great finish. Your box is awesome showing such nice spalted wood.

Best,
Serge
