Project Information
Made a big time score on some MDF this weekend. 8 sheets of 1/2" 5'x8' laminated MDF, 5 sheets of 3/4" 4'x8' sheets of laminated MDF, and 2 sheets of 1" 4'x8' Melamine for a total of $150
The other picture is the Shopsmith that I just purchased. I couldn't believe when the dang thing fit into my mini van.
Among other things this summer I need to build a big workbench/center/cart a bunch of shop cabinets & a Bunk Bed for my kids. In my estimation I needed at least 12 1/2" 4'x8' sheets of MDF. So went to HD to find it was, YIKES damn that's pricey! So time to think outside the box. Oh hey Habitat has an outlet "Home Improvement" store in Seattle. More looking around WOW 50% off a $50 gift card for said HH Outlet store.
The only catch was that I had to get it all home in my Toyota Sienna Mini Van. So after hitting up everyone who would answer my calls I finally got my dad to help. We went down Saturday afternoon and spend about 2 hours out in front of the store cutting down the boards so they would fit in the back of my van. Man what a workout that was! Those boards are HEAVY! Fortunately there was the scrap wood box we were able to use as a ripping well.
In all I think getting the tools & supplies was harder than building the actual projects! LOL
