Good day all of you.
There is my latest project, that I worked on for the last months.
The chair came from Wood Plans they are an old project I had in mind for a long time, and wood magazine still can provide you with these great plans easy to follow step by step , even the upholstering is shown how to, in detail,
As for the table, I found lots of pictures of dinning room set on a ’’Amish web site ’’ great woodworker there, it is amazing what they accomplished. So thank you guys for the inspiration. Mine is 42in x 60in.
All of my work is done in red oak, one coat of danish oil that sets the colour of the wood followed by 3 coats of poly, sanded and done 24 hours appart. The center piece ’’Padauk and Wallnut’’ was done a while ago
I have a ’’sideboard’‘in mind to complete the set, I also have a question in mind,,, Can I mix ’’red Oak and Q/S White Oak in the same piece of furniture ? first for wood movement, second for the apparence.
Feel free to comment
Have a nice day all of you, and keep on making saw dust.

Beautiful set. Great design and I admire the amount of work that would have went into it and the chairs.

Andre, that is a great looking set you have made. Regarding mixing red and white oak, the two woods will take the color somewhat differently, but I have no idea how much of a difference there will be. Try it on samples and see what you think. I use the Shrinkulator to determine wood movement. HTH
