Hi everyone, This project came about out of a recent spring cleaning. We were at a rock and jem show years and years ago and came across this kid selling rocks in a bucket for 5 buckets. He assured us they were geodes. Sine we have a rule that we always buy what kids are selling we thought what the hay..so we took a chance and bought one after which he proceeded to tell us he could cut it for a extra 5 bucks. Now I was impressed. Here was a kid who had a enterprising spirit. So anyway as you can see he did a pretty good job. These things don’t exactly sit flat and have been in various cubby holes thru out our home till my wife said that unless they could be put to use they would end up in the back yard. So book ends they became. I honestly can not remember the base wood but it is framed out in sappele and the rocks are held in place with a heavy epoxy. It was one of those ..why didn’t i do this before..

Yes. Very Cool idea. You’re right also that this Kid has an “enterprising spirit”. If he got “5 buckets” for one bucket, or one rock, he did very well ….LOL…

Another good job. When I saw the thumbnail picture I thought it was a clock. Got anymore rocks?
