Finally got around to trying Sketchup – here is a little different version of the Uber Stool I posted a while back. This is my first Sketchup project so, hopefully I posted right and it’s understandable…if not, hopefully someone will tell me how to do it.
The stool – Since there is only one stretcher per leg, you can make them any basically length, same with the height – just shorten or lengthen the legs. The angles on the tenons are cut at the table saw and mimic the bottom and top cut on each leg (6 1/2 degrees here). Put all four legs together, mark the outsides, cut the bottom at 6.5 degrees, flip and cut the top at the same angle (parallelogram). The top is curved on the table saw – start at center to a final depth and keep rotating 180 degrees (1/8” cuts) and dropping the saw until you get to a spot on the outside that works for you. Dry fit and drill the holes for the pegs through the seat and into the legs, (cut the pegs for a wedge first).
Hopefully this will be helpful.

thanks schroeder,
I’ve been patiently waiting for these plans for awhile. glad you got around to it. everything looks great and i’m glad you mentioned how you did the curved seat, i was thinking you had maybe used an arbortech attachment or something. so this makes it much easier since i actually have a tablesaw. the pics and your details should be enough to guide me through. thanks for posting this!

I’m so glad that you think it will be something you can use, I consider it a great compliment! – Let me know if I can answer any questions – it’s definately the shop stool from hell! – indestructable so far!
