Slightly modified New Fangled Workbench

The bench is only slightly modified from the original. I made it six feet instead of eight to fit in the space I had available. Pretty much as soon as I was done my wife said I could have both bays of the garage, so now it’s just shorter for no reason, but that doesn’t mean I’m going to complain about the extra space. It has the middle inserts made from solid wood instead of ply, and there is a 1 sqft MDF section to serve as a sac piece. It is also 34 inches tall instead of 36. It’s made from Douglas Fir 2X10 and finished with boiled linseed oil. I’m not sure how long I will have this bench, I am new to woodworking and this is actually the first woodworking project I have ever done. Just been tool collecting and reading a lot up to this point. I want something to work on to figure out what I like and don’t so I’m better informed when I build my “real” bench. Also, Added insulation and drywall and completely moved around the shop, didn’t add all of that here because its not a working project, but I did update my workshop page. Any advice you may have on it would be appreciated.

I will have to think about the pipe clamp end vise and read through the plans, but I really like the planing hook and support. A nice simple and easy to adjust system.

I just browsed the pdf. There is much more to this bench than meets the eye.
